PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Ben was most recently with Morgan Stanley heading up their Asian equity sales team in Singapore. He has 25 years in finance primarily in a sales and research analyst capacity. Ben started in National Australia Bank in the foreign currency trading desk but after a year realized that equities was where his passion lay. He then joined JB Were (now Goldman Sachs) in Australia as a research analyst covering energy and materials. In 2002, he relocated to Singapore to initiate JB Were’s foray into Asian equities with research coverage of industrials and conglomerates. In 2003, he transitioned to a sales role at Macquarie where he was initially responsible for spearheading their Australian equities coverage and when he left in 2010, he was heading up Macquarie’s Asia sales desk. He had a brief stint with Samsung Securities during 2010/2011 as they embarked on building out a regional presence, but ended up at Morgan Stanley from 2012.
EDUCATION
Ben has a First Class Honours degree in Finance from Monash University.
PERSONAL ACHIEVEMENTS
Ben is an avid sportsperson but is a master of none and loves interacting with others – especially on anything related to sport and investments. He loves traveling and exploring wine regions of the world, but having 2 young children means that he can only dream.
